Arvo

The Basics

Style -Australian Pale Ale

ABV - 5.9%

Description

Made using a blend of Southern Hemisphere and New World hops, this medium-bodied amber ale bursts with tropical fruit and citrus aromas that fade into the palate with a semi-dry finish.

The Name

Australian slang is pretty dominant (especially amongst the Aussies) in our naming schemes and our references here at Bay 13. Arvo, slang for the afternoon, falls in line with that and serves as both a question and an answer.

The Ingredients

Malt:

2-Row, Dextrin, Caramunich Type I, and Cramalt Floor Malted Pilsner

Hops:

Galaxy, Amarillo, Centennial, Pacifica, Taiheke

The Fun Facts

One of two “recognized” beer styles to come out of Australia, this beer is brewed with a blend of Australian, New Zealand, and American hops. Unlike other Pale Ales, the Australian Pale Ale features a dry finish and some yeast character to come through as a fruit/ester profile.
