Tim Tam

The Basics

Style - American Porter

ABV - 6.0%

Description

A rich and smooth American Porter with chocolate-forward flavors, a touch of sweetness, and a decadent finish of cacao nibs and Madagascar vanilla.

tHE NAME

Named for the popular Australian candy of the same name. Tim Tams are chocolate biscuits (cookies… the colonies am I right?) coated in rich, smooth milk chocolate with a velvety chocolate center.

BEER FACT

Similar in many ways to English porters, American porters have similar dark malt aromas and flavors and feature low hopping rates, which, combined with the absence of roasted barley, contributes to a less bitter beverage than a typical stout. However, unlike English porters, American porters tend to finish a little sweeter and generally have a higher alcohol content, even for the normal-strength varieties.
